FGS 2010 – Day 1

August 18, 2010 in And More

I arrived in Knoxville about 4:00 this afternoon.  I checked in at my hotel, then walked across World’s Fair Park to the Knoxville Convention Center and checked in for the Federation of Genealogical Societies Conference.

A little later, I joined Melissa Corley, Amy Coffin, Thomas McAntee, and Tina Lyons and her hubby for drinks at the Hilton.  This was my first time meeting any of these folks in real life, so that was a lot of fun.

Then I tagged along and crashed the ProGen dinner.  I’ve considered joining a ProGen group several times and I learned a lot more about the program by chatting with the folks at this informal dinner.

Now I’m back in my hotel room.  I got my things organized for tomorrow.  Whenever I travel, there is always something I forget.  This time it was my address labels, so now I’m filling out my door prize tickets BY HAND.  Note to self:  next time, don’t forget the labels!
