Herbert M. Childers was born 27 Mar 1894 in Murray County, Georgia. On 6 June 1914, he married Jessie Malinda Roberts, the daughter of Will Roberts and Mary Elizabeth Henderson and granddaughter of Monteville Roberts and Mariah Langston. Jessie was born 4 July 1898, also in Murray County. Herbert died on 11 September 1986 and Jessie died on 13 March 1987. They are buried at Chatsworth Heights Cemetery.
