William Adolphus “Dock” Whitener, my great-grandmother’s elder half-brother, was born January 7, 18821 in Ellijay, Georgia2. He was the youngest son of William Everett Whitener and Roxy Sinyard3. He fought in both the Spanish-American War and the Philippine Insurrection4. He first married Cynthia Caroline Reed5 about 19036; after Cynthia died, he married Prentis Mullinax in 19167. Printie was born December 23, 18948 in Georgia9. Dock died January 8, 1947. Printie lived until 1994, dying just a few months shy of her one-hundredth birthday. They are buried in Chatsworth Heights Cemetery10.
