Evernote-Genealogy

In the last installment of my Quick Tips on using Evernote for Genealogy, I talked about using the Evernote Web Clipper to clip information from the interwebs.  Today, I’m going to tell you about another tool that can make your web clips even better.  It’s an add-on called Clearly and it is hands-down my favorite add-on for Evernote.

Clearly strips out the extraneous information on websites, such as ads, sidebars, headers, etc – all the things that you probably don’t want to save for posterity.  Here’s a before and after shot:

Clearly has a few other handy features.  You can highlight text before saving a clip, make web pages print-friendly (even if the website doesn’t give you that option), and change text to speech.

To get Clearly for your own use, visit the Evernote home page, scroll to the bottom and click on Evernote Clearly in the Products section.  Or just click here.   It is available for Firefox, Chrome, and Opera.
