Stephen Lawson Headstone
Apparently, the small stone in front is the original and the military stone was added later.Notes - The heirs of William Lawson were named in deed dated March 9, 1819 as Isham Lawson, Elijah Lawson, Stephen Lawson, William Lawson, Elisha Lason and George Lawson. Sarah Lawson was still alive at the time, and had three other children--Wyley, Hinton and Anna living with her, but they were not the owners of the land or the heirs William Lawson for the land in that transaction. But, the land was stated to be adjacent to where Sarah lived. This could suggest that Sarah was a second wife of William Lawson with children by a previous marriage.
