Appearing in the two surrounding households were George Patterson, probably Bailey's father, and Linsey Patterson, probably his brother.
Fannin County was created in 1854 from parts of Gilmer and Union counties; the Patterson's either moved to Fannin County between 1850 and 1860, or more likely, lived in the part of Gilmer that became Fannin.
