    Notes 
    • Thomas Rudd named the children of Francis and Robert Kendrick in his will. These children would have been nieces and nephews (Thomas Rudd is Franky Rudd's brother). This fact, coupled with the fact that Francis and Robert had a daughter named Tempy and Thomas and Mahala also had a daughter named Tempy, have convinced me that Robert and Francis are indeed the parents of my Thomas Kendrick (born 1821). This also convinces me that Francis (Franky) Rudd is the daughter of Harwood (Herrod) Rudd.

      The given name Harwood was used in his father's will of 1779. Other documents used both Harwood and Herrod (or Herod). All of the will administration documents in McMinn County in the 1840s refer to "William Rudd, executor of the last will and testament of Herrod Rudd."
