James Benjamin Butler was my great-grandfather. He died in 1944. This footstone marks his grave in the Butler family plot in Ramsey Cemetery. He was born in 1880 in Murray County, GA and lived there most of his life, except for a few years, when he and his wife lived in Texas. His World War I Draft Registration card describes him as being tall, of medium build, and having blue eyes and sandy hair. He was a farmer, as well as being the Sheriff of Murray County.
