Tombstone Tuesday: Charlie and Mattie Sampler

Butler genealogy

Mattie Lytle Butler, the eldest child of Dave Butler and Josephine Hemphill, was born July 28, 1879, probably in Murray County, Georgia.  She married Charlie Sampler on November 26, 1899.  Charlie was born July 13, 1876 in Alabama.  They moved to Quanah, Texas sometime between 1900 and 1910, but were back in Murray County by 1930.  Charlie died December 20, 1959 and Mattie died July 29, 1963.  They are buried in Chatsworth Heights Cemetery.
