    Military:
    Henry Dellinger apparently did not serve active military duty, but four vouchers reimbursing him for material aid document his support of the cause. These are at the NC State Archives. Descendents of Henry Dellinger are members of the DAR because of his contributions to the Revolutionary Cause.

    "DAR Ancestor #A088225. PS = Patriotic Service meaning that Henry Dellinger provided material aid. Henry Dellinger also served in a militia company prior to the War."

    Johann (John) Philipp and his son Heinrich(Henry) Dellinger sailed into the Philadelphia harbor on August 28, 1750 on the ship "Two Brothers" whose Capt. was Thomas Arnot. They were signed on as Philipp Dellinger and Henry Hillinger. Point of origin: Rotterdam, Holland.

    On Thursday, 24 December 1772, Martin Shultz bought 300 acres of land from Henry Dellinger and his wife Hannah for 10 pound Proclamation money. This land was located on 'head waters of Leeper's Creek on Lick Run adjoining John Dellinger' in Tryon County, North Carolina.

    Lincoln County, NC Deed Book 2. Johannes Phillip Dellinger's will mentions that son Henry was to receive 185 acres on which Phillip lived and that son John Dellinger (this may refer to Johann Philipp) was to receive his personal possessions and cattle.

Whitener as a Jury to view the road leading towards Rutherfordton from the West side of Clarks Creek crossing the Henry River at the Sandy Ford and Jacobs river at Philip Whitener's, Esqr. and make report to the next County Court whether it ought to be kept up as a public road or not.

    Buried:
    Henry Dellinger's tombstone is about 100 to 150 feet behind the main section of the cemetery. Henry's grave is marked with two markers, one of plain granite and the other is a marble slab. The granite marker reads:
    "H. D. Dep This life 15 Feb 1820 in the 80 of his age."

    The diary of Lutheran pastor David Henkel has the following entry for Thursday, February 17, 1820:
    "A funeral sermon for Henry Dellinger, Sr."

    This funeral sermon was probably given at the home of Peter Mosteller, Jr., who was Henry's son-in-law. Henry had resided with Peter Mosteller from 22 Sep 1818 until his death.

    "Since Oberacker has Protestant Church records beginning in 1567 and apparently no Catholic records, it is reasonable to assume the early Dellinger families of Oberacker Protestant."
