Died Aft 24 Jun 1860 , Gilmer County, Georgia Notes
The two Margaret Dellingers who married Whitener brothers:
Paul Dellinger places Margaret Dellinger as the daughter of John Dellinger and Barbara Fisher. However according to Ann Dellinger the Margaret Dellinger who is the daughter of John and Barbara Dellinger married Johannes W. Whitener, who is the brother of George D. Whitener.
Margaret, daughter of Henry and Katherine (Setzer) Dellinger, is identified as the wife of George D. Whitener in 1892 newspaper articles on the descendants of John and Barbara (Whitener) Dellinger and in the writings of other members of the Whitener family. Margaret was born on 18 June 1807. She was the daughter of George Heinrich "Henry" Dellinger and Katherine Setzer. She married George D. Whitener at Lincoln Co., North Carolina, on 23 September 1824. Margaret died on 2 November 1848 at age 41. Her body was interred in November 1848 at Catawba Co., North Carolina, at Weidner-Robinson Cemetery. -> Argother.net

- I have long suspected something like this regarding John Whitener and Margaret Dellinger, because they have children with birthdates that overlap the birthdates of his children with Polly Miller. I would like to find documentary evidence of this court case:
"John W. Whitener or John D. Whitener, as his name often appears, must have been quite a charmer and most appealing to the ladies! I am very fond of him, but when Clara Shook was at the Archives and found the case where John Whitener was brought up for charges of adultery with Margaret Dellinger, I wanted to cheer. I noticed Caleb Miller, Polly's brother, was at Court that day and would bet he made the charge against John Whitener."
