- "Margaret Curtis Stroud was not found on the 1860 census, so she probably died in the 1850-1860 time-frame. I originally though she died in McDowell County, but someone pointed out that there is a tombstone in the Carter Cemetery in Towns County, Georgia next to her son Peter Grayson Stroud (1807) which says "Mother of Peter Stroud" with no dates."
