-
Name John W. PATTERSON Born Mar 1866 , , Georgia [1, 3, 4]
- Mar 1866 -> Eastern Cherokee Application
1863, Georgia -> age 47 on 1910 census
1865, Georgia -> age 55 on 1920 census
Gender Male Census 1880 Boardtown District, Gilmer, Georgia [5]
- John Patterson (17) appeared in the household of Fields Patterson (28) as his nephew. He was a laborer. He and his father were born in Georgia and his mother was born in Tennessee.
John's father died in 1872 and his mother, Sarah, remarried and moved to Tennessee, where she appears on the 1880 census, with two of her children, not including John. Sarah was born in Tennessee, so this matches the entry for the John in Fields Patterson's household. John's age varies by a few years in various records, but a birth year of 1863 appears at least one other time.
There are other John Pattersons in Georgia who fit the age range, but all are listed as either sons or grandsons of the head of household.
Based on this, I think it is probable that the John Patterson living with Fields Patterson is the son of Jerry and Sarah Patterson.
Census 1910 Township 2, Rogers, Oklahoma [3]
- John Patterson (47) is found on an Indian Population schedule in Rogers County, Oklahoma. He appeared in the household of David J. Faulkner as a hired hand. He was divorced. He and his father were born in Georgia and his mother was born in Tennessee. He could read, but not write. His race is reported as full-blooded white.
Census 1920 Dustin, Hughes, Okahoma [4]
- John Patterson (55) is found outside of Dustin township as a boarder in the household of Charles R. Reeves. He was divorced. He and both parents were born in Georgia. He had no occupation.
His former wife and children are found in the same town, a few pages away.
Died Between 1920 and 1930 , , Oklahoma [2]
