- The will of Thomas Lytle, Jr. was dated 4-1-1878 and probated 5-7-1883. It was recorded in will book 2, page 127, McDowell County, North Carolina.
I give unto Mary E. and Josephine, heirs of my daughter Martha, 600 acres of land, more or less, known as my fathers and J.P. Lytles land adjoining my own.
2nd. I give to Jane White, J.L. Burgin, Louisa Goforth, Martha Burgin, Eliza Settlemyre, Thomas L Burgin, John R. Burgin, George Burgin and Bulow Burgin, heirs of my daughter Susannah, 300 acres of land known as Merritt Burgin Land. Said land to be divided when Bulow Burgin becomes twenty-one.
Third I give unto Thomas Young Lytle, heir of my daughter Mary Louisa, and George Lytle, heir of my son George W. Lytle, land known as Jesse Burgin Land plus another tract got from mother, to George W. when he becomes eighteen.
Forth I give unto Rosa Jane Lytle, Martha Settlemyre, George L. Lytle, Mary E. Lytle, Joseph Hix Lytle, heirs of son Joseph Lytle, land said to contain 800 acres. I give
unto Rosa Jane Lytle and Mary E. Lytle the large black mule named Beck and one cow and a calf a piece, and the household and kitchen furniture and what hogs that I may have at my death and one hundred bushels of corn.
